English IV Course Curriculum

English IV is an advanced course that cultivates a deep understanding and appreciation of world literature while honing communication and analytical skills to a sophisticated level. It provides students with a global perspective on literary genres and movements, stretching across different cultures and time periods.

Throughout the course, students explore a variety of literary pieces, including novels, plays, short stories, poems, and essays from around the globe. This exploration allows students to analyze literature in diverse cultural, social, and historical contexts, fostering an enriched understanding of the world and their place in it.

The development of advanced writing skills is a major focus in this course. Students will refine their ability to compose thoughtful and well-structured essays, persuade effectively, express personal views compellingly, and conduct thorough research.
